Ballyteigue Burrow is one of the finest sand dune systems in Europe. The magnificent dunes are perched on a 9km-long coastal barrier that stretches from Kilmore Quay to Cullenstown.

Rich in wild flowers and butterflies, the western end is a national Nature Reserve. A great place for long walk at sunset....

Thatched cottages: The whitewashed thatched cottages, alongside the narrow village street, have stood undisturbed for centuries. Their walls, two to three feet thick, are made of clay, straw and stones. Their roof frames were often made from driftwood, strong timbers of old ships, wrecked by south westerly storms.
Thatched in straw or reed, these houses are unique to the area in that they have hip and gable ends. Restored and refurbished along strict traditional lines, they are a joy to behold and a pleasure to live in.

Kilmore Quay Marina:  A recent addition to our theatre (it was built in 1996), this new Marina has 55 fully-serviced pontoon berths, electricity, water, showers and toilets. Diesel and chandlery. Visitors are always welcome. Contact the Harbour Master at tel/fax: (+ 00 353 53) 29955, VHF Ch. 16, 09, 37. A Wexford County Council amenity.
More information on the marina facilities and navigation can be obtained from the Kilmore Quay Marina website at
http://www.wexford.ie/kilmore/.

Kilmore Quay Lifeboat: The Kilmore Quay Lifeboat was established in 1847. Since that date, 111 lives have been saved. Crew members of the Kilmore Quay Lifeboat have been awarded nine silver medals and one bronze medal for extraordinary courage in the line of duty.
The present Lifeboat is a Mersey Class Lifeboat, the "Mary Margaret'. The RNLB 'Mary Margaret' was the first Mersey Class Lifeboat to be stationed in Ireland. See the RNLI website for more information at http://www.rnli.org.uk/Station.asp?SNo=98.

The Saltee Islands: Two large granite outcrops in the sea, the Saltee Islands are the most famous bird sanctuary in Ireland. The islands' cliffs support eleven species of breeding seabirds in summer. A boat trip around the islands will give you excellent views of scenery, the seabirds and perhaps a grey seal or two.
More informaiton.

The guillemot Maritime Museum: The lightship 'Guillemot' has been converted to a maritime museum. From the Bridge Deck, both the Hook and Barrels lights can be seen and there are excellent views of the Saltee Islands. Below decks is a very extensive collection of maritime pictures and numerous other 'sea antiques' are on display.
