The way we lived then...

If you can spare the time, you will find a fascinating collection of old documents (wills, receipts and certificates) of local origin from times past. Note particularly the Ordnance Survey map of County Wexford dated 1903 showing the village and lighthouse at the entrance to Wexford harbour which no longer exists and with no less than three manned lightships off the East Wexford coast and two off the South coast. The last remaining lightship - The Conningbeg - has been unmanned for many years.

Also of particular interest are the Registration Certificates of the earliest and latest fishing boats registered in the name of James Kehoe - the 'Mary' in March 1848 and the 'Róisín' in July 1987.
